Sunday Morning Discussions: Work vs Leisure After FI
Details
You’ve built a work-optional life, now what?
Many are drawn to achievement, learning, and growing, but want more control over their time. Financial independence promises freedom, but it doesn’t come with a clear sense of what to do next. You may want the space to explore new interests or ideas without yet knowing what those interests are.
This conversation will center around the often-overlooked transition between full-time work and full freedom. What does it look like to step back without losing purpose? How do you navigate part-time work when your industry, role, or circumstances make that difficult (or impossible)?
Let’s discuss the gray zones: staying longer than you’d like in a role that’s unfulfilling (or only somewhat fulfilling) while trying to design a better balance; being pulled to keep working, but struggling to find something that feels meaningful; or deciding to cut the cord to become a reluctant entrepreneur.
Let’s wrestle with perhaps the hardest question: is the answer to fully embrace early retirement and a life of leisure, accepting the discomfort, uncertainty, or identity shift that can come with it?
Let’s get together to share honest experiences or anticipations!
