Sunday Morning Discussions: Money, Generosity, and Doing Good
Details
When we give money away, should we give to the people and causes we care about most, where we may get to see and experience the impact firsthand? Or should we focus on where our dollars can objectively do the most good, even if the cause is far removed from our own lives?
Does giving money away increase our own happiness? How important is financial generosity to living a good life? For those who want to maximize the impact of their charitable giving, what are some of your favorite resources? What can we still take away from the effective altruism movement despite the damage to its reputation? And how do we balance the FIRE movement's goal of not needing to earn as much money throughout our lives with having enough to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others?
Join us for a discussion on these questions, or feel free to bring your thoughts and questions to the topic.
