Node.js Meetup - Deno & Advanced CI
Details
Node.js meetups are back! Chattering around (node)JS topics and two great talks:
--------------------------------------------------------------
"D̶u̶n̶n̶o̶ - Deno what is it?" with Martin Sonnenholzer
In 2009 Ryan Dahl introduced Node.js to the World. Unfortunately I came across Node.js years later and learned how powerful backend JavaScript development can be.
In 2018 he announced, what one could call the next evolution of Node.js - Deno.
Deno is based on TypeScript and V8, it takes advantages of both technologies and the learnings of almost 10 years of Node.js.
I thought to myself this new background environment looks amazing. So I took my time to deep dive into Deno.
In this talk I will share my experience with you. What is it. What it can do. How it works and if you can use it in production?
--------------------------------------------------------------
"Advanced CI made easy and fun" with David Guijarro
Do you get the chills when you think about Jenkins?
I know I do.
That's why I'm so thankful I don't need to work with it anymore.
Instead, our teams use YAML files and other types of templates that are simple and fun to write, and that allow them to reduce the amount of boilerplate needed for each project, while enabling cool, helpful stuff like ad-hoc branch deployments, conditionally rebuilding dependencies, automated rollbacks and more!
By the end of this talk, you might have some new ideas to improve your own pipelines and earn the love and respect of your team.
