Details
Join us for the first workshop at display, a hands-on workshop on live coding with Hydra. You will learn how to visually interface with ‘display’, our new space for digital practice in Frankfurt.
📅 19.02.2026, 14:00-17:00/18:00
📍 display, Berliner Straße 60,
60311 Frankfurt am Main
🎟️ 0-5€ https://ticket.nodeforum.org/pwp/
In this workshop, digital performance artist Naoto Hieda gives an introduction to the practice of live coding using the software Hydra. Hydra is a creative coding environment developed by Olivia Jack to create and publish visualizations in real time, especially in the web browser. Hydra is ideal for beginners and allows for the development of interactive visuals with little or no coding experience. Participants will learn how to generate glitchy images and how to use code to create their own generative aesthetic. Finally, we will create a small multimedia real-time performance in which visuals interactively respond to sound, code and to our bodies. You will learn how to create online live performances or how to present your artwork on the manifold displays at display!
display is the new space for digital practice in the centre of Frankfurt and a cooperation project between us, NODE Forum for Digital Arts, and ‘Stabstelle Digitalisierung’, the Digitalisation Department of the City of Frankfurt am Main.
