Talk:

There are programming patterns that we can employ that allows us to have clean code that doesn't break whenever we implement a small change. The Observer pattern is one such pattern. It allows us to create and listen to events from objects without having to be aware that said objects exist.

By the end of this talk I'll show you the classic Observer pattern, along with some variations on how to implement this pattern in JavaScript.
