NodeBots of London: Assemble!

Details

NodeBots of London is a semi regular meetup to hack on hardware using JavaScript. We'll build robots, fly node copters and perhaps inadvertently kickstart the robot apocalypse.

Lunch will be provided, please specify in the RSVP form if you have any dietary requirements.

What should I bring?

  1. A laptop.

Please install the latest versions of node (http://nodejs.org/), git (http://git-scm.com/) and johnny-five (https://github.com/rwaldron/johnny-five/).

If you are running Windows, please install Visual Studio (http://www.visualstudio.com/) as well.

  1. Some hardware to hack on.

If you are a beginner the Oomlout Starter Kit For Arduino (ARDX) (http://oomlout.co.uk/products/arduino-starter-kit-ardx) is a good place to start - if they are out of stock any Arduino Starter kit (https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=arduino+starter+kit) from Amazon will do.

If you've got the basics down and are looking for a challenge, the NodeBots of London Esoteric Hardware Library (https://github.com/tableflip/nodebots-library) is a veritable treasure trove of electronics for you to experiment with.

I'm too excited, I can't wait that long!

Sharpen your robotic coding skills in advance with the nodebot-workshop (https://libraries.io/npm/nodebot-workshop) - no hardware required!

I've got a question!

Post in the comments below or send smoke signals to @NodeBotsUK (https://twitter.com/NodeBotsUK) if you've misplaced your soldering iron or get lost on the way.

I'd like to sponsor you

That's fantastic, please get in touch!
