Hi Node developers!

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR RSVP IF YOU CAN'T COME.

Agenda:

18:00 - Gathering, mingling, pizza and beers

18:30 - Building Resiliency into your Node Stack
Every descent web application today qualifies as a distribute system. By definition a distributed system is prone to failures and in fact failures will occur in every web application. You just have to decide what are you going to do about it.
My goal in this talk is to convince you that failures in web applications are happening by design (like a second nature) but you don’t have to be anxios about it, but instead embrace it, welcome it and handle it gracefully

19:10 - Command Processor Pattern - For when you want your tasks to execute!
Sometimes there are tasks that need to be done, no matter what. Regular event mechanisms such as AMQP might not be good enough because you can lose events. For such cases there is a pattern called Command Processor. Let's explore it and see how we at Autodesk use it to achieve consistency and reliability in our offloaded tasks.
