The first NodeSchool (http://nodeschool.io/) event in Bristol!

NodeSchool is a free event where we'll be going through the choose-your-own-adventure style lessons on nodeschool.io (http://nodeschool.io/).

You'll use the terminal/command line to begin learning Node.js (http://nodejs.org/), an open source, cross-platform runtime environment for server-side and networking applications. Node is a great way to get into full-stack JavaScript development.

You'll also have the opportunity to use nodeschool.io to learn Git, JavaScript and other useful technologies. There will be stickers for completing workshops!

We'll take you through installation if necessary, but if you feel confident enough to install Node yourself and you already have a text-editor then that would be great.

Schedule for the day:

9.15 - Doors Open
9.45 - Introduction (Adam and Tom)
10.00 - Start Workshops
11.00 - Break
11.30 - Workshops
12.30 - Lunch
13.30 - Presentation: Node libraries (Tom)
13.45 - Workshops
15.00 - Break
15.30 - Workshops
16.30 - Presentation: Five things you can do with Node (Adam)
17:00 - Head to Big Chill Bar (http://wearebigchill.com/venues/bristol/) for drinks

MixRadio is in the centre of Bristol, close to the bus and train stations. If you are driving, leave plenty of time, as Bristol is notoriously bad for traffic.

There is parking nearby at the Galleries (http://galleriesbristol.co.uk/car-parking/), which is marginally cheaper than the NCP on Nelson Street (http://www.ncp.co.uk/find-a-car-park/car-parks/bristol-nelson-street/) - however, if you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk through town, the cheapest place to park (by far) is on the Wapping Wharf (http://www.wappingwharf.co.uk/).
