“Being lost isn't the same as being nowhere."

For April, we will discuss the second, or the "inspired", book in our theme of pairs. Apparently, We Have Always Lived in the Castle served as the inspiration for Paul Tremblay's A Head Full of Ghosts.
This horror novel follows the Barrett family in Massachusetts as their teenage daughter Marjorie’s disturbing behavior escalates into a media spectacle. Told largely from the perspective of her younger sister Merry years later, the book explores ambiguity between psychological illness and demonic possession, as well as the exploitation of private trauma through reality television. The narrative blends classic supernatural motifs with deeply unsettling psychological tension.
