The highly acclaimed production, the 504 Play, is set to premiere on August 30th, 2025, at the Orpheum Theater, promising a memorable theatrical experience. This powerful drama, written and directed by Anthony Bean, choreographed by Real Washington, and with Vocal direction by Brittney Crayton, explores themes of resilience, identity, and the human spirit.
The 504 Play follows Aikeem (played by Jordan Bates), a determined young man dedicated to rebuilding his hometown of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina’s devastation. Aikeem’s primary goal is to include the city’s youth in its rebuilding efforts. He’s organizing a concert to raise awareness about their struggles and to show that they matter and want to be part of the city’s future. The play explores themes of resilience, community, and inclusion, offering a powerful and thought-provoking story that connects with audiences from diverse backgrounds.
The 504 Play features energetic dance performances and a diverse range of music, including soulful blues and gospel, as well as lively hip-hop. These elements enhance the play, highlighting the resilience and spirit of New Orleans’ youth as they confront the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

The cast features a talented group of over 50 young actors, dancers, and singers from the New Orleans area who have participated in the Anthony Bean Performing Arts Summer Program, adding depth and authenticity to their roles.
The 504 Play will be performed at the Orpheum Theater, located at 129 Roosevelt Way, New Orleans, LA 70112. The show is scheduled for August 30, 2025, with one performance. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
