Company is not a collection of pretty ditties about how life should be, but how they are. Sondheim stuns with lyrics that are somehow simultaneously a glut of words as well as a perfect economy of the same, unflinchingly showing us the cynicism, fear, pessimism, and ultimately the yearning for connection that are all a part of “Being Alive.” Please let this production be one of “The Little Things You Do Together” this summer!
