The turtles of Daymaniyat islands and the secrets of the mangroves

Touring and snorkeling the Daymaniyat Islands is one of the most surprising and must-do parts of a trip to Muscat, Oman. Nine small islands make up this snorkeling hotspot, with its brightly colored fish, sea turtles, and clear beautiful water. The islands are a natural preserve, uninhabited, completely natural, and protected by a marine reserve. They were designated as a nature reserve in 1993 to help conserve the turtles and fish as well as the coral reefs in the area. In order to preserve and protect the islands, trips are limited by the government.
The Mangroves of Bandar Alkheiran: A true hidden gem nestled between sandy rough mountains and is only 21 kilometers away up the hilly road of Qantab. A secluded area, many travelers head there to relax, swim or to experience ‘island camping’. The area is surrounded with crystal clear, emerald waters and soft sand beach that will simply take you by surprise. If you love landscape photography, this place is breathtaking!


Day one: We will leave Dubai around 8 a.m aiming to reach Muscat around 13:00 and we will have our lunch there then continue around 3 pm to Bandar Al Kheiran for snorkelling and Kayaking in the mangroves. We will also Kayak our way to a small cave and enter it with our kayaks. Before Sunset, we will Kayak to a secluded beach where we will have a small hike and take wonderful pictures with the sunset in the mangroves.
Then , we will take our kayaks to the last stretch of water and experience kayaking in the night with the stunning moon reflection in the water. A truly surreal experience!!
Afterwards , we will check in our hotel to freshen up and then head to Mutrah Souq for a good bargain and some souvenir shopping; an old Omani souq and have some sandwiches and fresh juice there. Then we will head back to the hotel.


Day Two: We will wake up early and have our breakfast at the hotel around 7 and leave the hotel around 07:30 am towards the marina where we will take the speed boat to Daymaniyat island for a day of pristine island snorkeling in two different islands and you will visit the Turtle Bay aka turtle city and see tens of turtles swimming and feeding together in one place.
Afterwards, we will head back to the marina and then go for light snacks and head to Dubai straight.
