Day 1 — Mosaics, Mount Nebo and the Dead Sea
Your Jordan story starts the moment you land. We meet you at Queen Alia International Airport in the early morning and head straight to Madaba, the City of Mosaics.
- Madaba's Byzantine churches — walk among centuries-old mosaics, including the famous 6th-century Madaba Map, the oldest surviving map of the Holy Land.
- Mount Nebo — stand where Prophet Moses is said to have looked out over the Promised Land. See the bronze serpent sculpture, inspired by the staff of Moses, and take in sweeping views over the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and the hills of Palestine on a clear day.
- The Dead Sea — descend to the lowest point on Earth, about 430 m below sea level. Float effortlessly in the salt-heavy water and cover yourself in our famous Dead Sea mud bath, a natural spa treatment people travel across the world for.
Check in to a 4-star hotel by the Dead Sea, enjoy dinner together and wind down to the sunset over the water.
Overnight: Dead Sea (4-star hotel)
Day 2 — Baptism Site, Dana and the Road South
Today we follow the ancient King's Highway south, through some of Jordan's most dramatic landscapes.
- The Baptism Site (Bethany Beyond the Jordan) — a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the banks of the Jordan River, revered as the place where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. A quiet, moving tour, just steps from the river.
- Dana Nature Reserve — Jordan's largest nature reserve, where sandstone cliffs drop into wide valleys. Explore with a local guide and visit the 15th-century stone village of Dana, perched on the edge of the canyon.
- Shobak Castle — a Crusader fortress from 1115, rising from a lonely hilltop. Wander its walls and tunnels and imagine the centuries of history it has watched pass by.
- The world's smallest hotel — a quirky roadside stop near Shobak, famous for its world-record title. Bring your camera; this one always gets a laugh.
- Little Petra (Siq Al-Barid) — a perfect preview of tomorrow. Carved Nabataean facades, narrow passages and a rare painted ceiling, with a fraction of the crowds.
Overnight: Petra (hotel)
Day 3 — Petra, the Rose-Red City, then into Wadi Rum
Nothing prepares you for Petra. Carved into pink and gold sandstone more than 2,000 years ago by the Nabataeans, it is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You enter through Al-Siq, a winding canyon over a kilometre long, its walls rising up to 80 metres on either side. The path bends, narrows, bends again, and then the rock opens and Al-Khazneh, the Treasury, appears in front of you, glowing in the morning light. It is a moment people remember for the rest of their lives.
Right now Petra is calmer than in its busiest years. That means quiet corners, unhurried photos and the space to actually feel the place, not just pass through it. With our English-speaking guide, you choose your pace:
| Option | Distance (round trip) | What you'll see |
| ------ | --------------------- | --------------- |
| Classic | About 4 km | Al-Siq and the Treasury, then back |
| Full adventure | About 14 km | The Siq, Treasury, Street of Facades, Royal Tombs, then 800+ rock-cut steps up to Ad-Deir, the Monastery, Petra's largest monument, with views across the valleys |
In the afternoon we drive south into Wadi Rum, the Valley of the Moon. Red sand, towering granite and sandstone mountains, and a silence you can almost hear. We settle into our desert camp for a true Bedouin evening:
- Zarb (madfoun) dinner — meat, vegetables and rice slow-cooked underground in the sand, the traditional Bedouin way, and lifted out in front of you.
- Bonfire, music and dancing under one of the clearest night skies you will ever see.
Overnight: Wadi Rum desert camp
Day 4 — Desert Safari and Amman by Night
Wake up to sunrise over the dunes, then jump into a 4x4 jeep for our morning safari across Wadi Rum.
- On the trail of Lawrence of Arabia — follow the desert route made famous by T.E. Lawrence during the Arab Revolt, with stops at Lawrence's Spring and the landscapes that starred in the film.
- Um Fruth Rock Bridge — one of Wadi Rum's most iconic natural arches. Climb up for the classic photo standing on top of the bridge.
- Red sand dunes, ancient rock inscriptions and endless desert views along the way.
After the safari we drive north to Amman, Jordan's capital, built across rolling hills. In the evening we head out on a night city tour: the lights of the old downtown, the Roman Theatre lit up after dark, buzzing streets, and, of course, a stop for kunafa.
Overnight: Amman (hotel)
Day 5 — Jerash and Farewell
Our last stop is Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities outside Italy, about an hour north of Amman.
- Walk through Hadrian's Arch and along the colonnaded main street, still paved with original Roman stones and marked by chariot wheels.
- Stand in the Oval Plaza, ringed by 56 columns, and climb into the South Theatre, where the acoustics still carry a whisper to the top row.
- Wander the old city at your own pace for final photos and souvenirs.
From Jerash we transfer you to Queen Alia International Airport for your flight home, full of stories, photos and, I promise, a plan to come back.
