Your Activity
Rindik Learning Class
Your day begins in the quiet village of Tengkulak Kaja, you’ll meet Komang Ali, a passionate young musician dedicated to preserving Bali’s traditional rindik music. He’ll share the history and meaning behind this bamboo instrument. Then, it’s your turn. You’ll learn the notes, the rhythm, and by the end, you’ll be able to play a short piece of music yourself.
Rattan Making Workshop
Next, we head to Batuan Village, home to Ibu Koming, a master artisan who’s turned rattan weaving into her life’s craft. She’ll walk you through the stories and traditions behind rattan in Bali before guiding you step-by-step to make your own mini rattan lamp. No experience needed, just curiosity and your hands. You’ll take your handmade piece home as a reminder of the day you learned to craft like a local.
Our Impact
Our Effort for Sustainable Tourism
This experience is co-created with local artisans and musicians to ensure every workshop directly benefits the community. Your participation helps preserve traditional music and craftsmanship and supports fair wages for those who keep Bali’s culture alive.
About the Families You’re Supporting
You’ll meet two families whose lives revolve around their craft. Komang Ali plays rindik for cultural events and ceremonies and teaches the next generation to keep the music alive. Ibu Koming sustains her household through rattan artistry, turning natural materials into meaningful pieces. Your visit supports their livelihoods and helps keep these traditions thriving.
