In response to feedback we’ve received, we’re now charging a small $5 fee to cover event costs and intentionally limit attendance. This allows us to preserve the intimate, connection-focused environment we are cultivating.

“What languages will be spoken?”
We welcome both Spanish and English speakers! Don't worry about being perfect in either language—the goal is connection, not perfection. Feel free to speak whatever language helps you connect best with your conversation partner. Many of our attendees are bilingual and happy to help bridge any language gaps. You're welcome to speak or practice whatever language feels best for you—there is no judgment here.

“Can I come to this event alone?”
Absolutely! Our format is specifically designed to help everyone feel welcomed and included. The guided activities and rotations ensure you'll meet multiple people throughout the night in a structured way, so you won't be standing around wondering who to talk to. Whether you're an introvert who appreciates structured interactions or an extrovert who loves meeting new people, our format creates comfortable opportunities for genuine connection.

“I can’t make it this date; how often do these meetups happen?”
We typically host these community connection events monthly. Follow our Heylo and Instagram pages to stay updated on future events. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to be notified when registration opens for the next one.

“What is the cost of the event for?”
The $5 fee helps cover the costs of organizing the event. More importantly, it allows us to keep our group intimate (35 people max) and to thoughtfully plan and facilitate our guided activities.

“What’s the format of the event?”
We strike a balance between structure and freedom to mingle. We'll have guided group activities to break the ice and spark deeper conversations, plus rotation periods to ensure you meet various people. There's also plenty of unstructured time to naturally connect with those you click with over food and drinks!

Why was this started?

I launched this event over 2 years ago with the below inspiration/intention:

I’ve been traveling and living abroad for over 7 years, lived here in BA as an expat, and have always learned the most by connecting with locals. It’s a favorite part of living abroad and this lifestyle. I’ve also picked up many travel tips I WISH I knew earlier but had to learn the hard way. This event is designed to help foster community, connection, and share the best tips and tricks from varied perspectives.

PLUS, giving back to local communities is also a huge part of the impact we can leave behind in this lifestyle. Nomads Giving Back’s mission is just that—giving back to the local communities we call our ‘home away from home’ and nurturing connections between foreigners and locals. 🎉🌀

He estado viajando y viviendo en el extranjero por más de 7 años, viví aquí en BA como expatriado, y siempre he aprendido más conectando con locales. Es una parte favorita de vivir en el extranjero y este estilo de vida. También he recogido muchos consejos de viaje que DESEARÍA haber sabido antes pero tuve que aprender por las malas. Este evento está diseñado para ayudar a fomentar la comunidad, la conexión, y compartir los mejores consejos y trucos desde perspectivas variadas.

ADEMÁS, devolver a las comunidades locales también es una parte enorme del impacto que podemos dejar atrás en este estilo de vida. La misión de Nomads Giving Back es precisamente eso—devolver a las comunidades locales que llamamos nuestro 'hogar lejos del hogar' y nutrir las conexiones entre extranjeros y locales. 🎉🌀
