Costal Bike Ride

Details
An easy bike ride along the North Tyneside Coast.
The ride starts at the Clock Tower in front of the Tynemouth Priory and Castle. It takes us on the newly created cycle paths along Cullercoats and Whitley Bay to St. Mary's Lighthouse. From there, a gravel path takes us to Seaton Sluice, where we cycle past the Dunes of Seaton Sluice up to Blyth's Beach.
We stop for a break at Blyth's Beach, where it has a cafe, fish and chips, ice cream, a Greggs, and a Co-op, after which we return to Tynemouth. There are plenty of public toilets along the route, too.
The ride is 18 miles long in total (2 x 9 miles).
Parking on a weekend near Tynemouth will be difficult, so please plan ahead. You can take your bike onto the Metro on the weekend.
