About us
What is non-duality ?
Non-duality is the experiential realisation that there is no fundamental separation between anything.
What is this group about, and who can join it?
This group is open to everyone interested in non-duality, and to those who are already familiar with it. The meetings should be open, honest and friendly. There is no teacher or guru, only friends who want to share in truth. The only requirement is an interest in the topic and an open mind.
The group is non-dogmatic and not associated to one particular teacher, although we all have our preferences. Additionally, non-duality is not a self-help method, or a way to resolve psychological problems.
How do the meetings work?
The meetings are open discussions that sometimes start with a short presentation.
You can also join our group on Facebook for online discussions:

Knowing and the Knower
The Genki Centre, 1 Arundel St, Glebe, AU## Meetup Topic: Knowing and the Knower
We spend much of our lives knowing things: sights, sounds, thoughts, emotions, memories, and sensations. These experiences constantly change, yet they all share one common feature, they are known.
This meetup will explore a simple but profound question: "What is the nature of this knowing, and what is it that knows? "
We will begin by examining ordinary experience and noticing how phenomena appear and disappear within awareness. From there, we will turn our attention toward the knower itself. Can the knower be found as an object of experience? Is it a thing, a witness, a self, or something beyond all concepts?
We will explore these questions through both spirituality and phenomenology, drawing on short readings from Nonduality, Zen and Christian mysticism, alongside thinkers such as Edmund Husserl and Dan Zahavi. The focus will be on direct experience, inquiry, and dialogue.
No prior knowledge of nonduality is required. The emphasis will be on curiosity, inquiry, and first-hand experience.
