July 5-6 Daly City to Pigeon Point and back (~120 miles round trip)

Hi All,

Back at it for an overnighter since last trip was so fun!! This time to Pigeon Point Lighthouse. There is a hostel there and they have space this weekend, but book soon if you'd like to go caz there is limited space (6 spots each for men and women). NOTE: You need to book the hostel space for you.

It's a one-night tour, about 60 miles each way / each day with about 4000 elevation and a lot on dirt/gravel. It's a pretty mellow ride (grade is easy peasey) if you ride fairly often. If you're a total beginner, it's probably not for you.

I'd like to go with people who are self-sufficient, meaning you will be able to get yourself there if you fall behind, fix a flat, etc. I'll think about places to stop along the way...perhaps in Half Moon Bay for lunch, where we can regroup. I would like to ride at a pace that is comfortable for me and not have to wait a lot...that said, if many others join, groups will likely form.

This tour will be lightweight, no sleeping gear required, but do plan to bring food to cook for dinner and breakfast as there isn't anything around the hostel to buy. There is a hot tub you can rent that looks out onto the ocean. It's pretty magical. You can reserve for yourself or up to 4 peeps. Bring a swimsuit or not...

I plan to go gravel for most of it, not down HW1. Route here.
