Olmstead and Western States Trail Loop

Starting and ending in Cool, this loop trail moves through forests, creeks, and open fields with moderate elevation changes. Parts of the trail is overgrown. Long pants and sturdy footwear are recommended. Parking is $10 or Poppy Pass behind the Cool Fire Station 72. Free parking is available in nearby shopping center or Holiday Market parking lot (5030 Ellinghouse Dr, Cool, CA 95614). Allow for 5 min walk from these locations. Car pooling from the Holiday Market is a possibility. Well-behaved dogs, comfortable with other dogs are welcome. We will wait 5 mins before starting.

This is a short hike, so there will be no long break halfway through it. Afterwards, however, we have the option of stopping for wine, beer and bites at Rosie's Restaurant with outdoor seating, located right next to the fire station. (2966 CA-49 Ste B, Cool, 95614)
