Expect about 6 (or 8) miles and 1800ft elevation gain (maybe 2 more miles if have to use overflow parking). AllTrails Route

Hope to be at trailhead about 8:00. Trailhead Directions. If carpooling expect to pay $4.5/hour or about $18.
If no parking at trailhead then use overflow parking lot near equestrian campground (and near iron ranger)

Check sign near Wrights Lake campground as we likely have to pay parking!

Sierra hikes tend to be very popular so respect the wait-list and honor your RSVP or cancel 2 days early. Desolation Wilderness limit is 12.

Restrooms are available at the trailhead.

Bring plenty of water and lunch/snacks. Be prepared for a Sierra hike as we may encounter sun, wind, or an afternoon thundershower (will cancel if smoky forecast).
