Satan's Cesspool
Details
This is a moderate 7.5-mile out and back hike, with great views of the American River and the Class III rapid called Satan's Cesspool. The trail is up and down, rugged in areas and mostly exposed. It has a diverse terrain that includes wooded areas and grasslands. The elevation climb is 527ft. Well-behaved dogs, comfortable with other dogs are welcome. We will wait 5 mins before starting.

Parking is Poppy Pass or $10. You can park for free on the west side of the bridge (38.77284, -121.03725), then cross the road and allow 5 mins walk to the Skunk Hollow Parking Lot.
Bring water (and a snack if desired)
