Nordic Poetry and Coffee at Kramers Bookstore and Café
Details
Come join us at Kramers, Washington D.C.’s historically first independent bookstore/café, for that all-important afternoon coffee break and to learn about Nordic national poets like Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, Johan Ludvig Runeberg, and Adam Gottlob Oehlenschläger (plus some contemporary poets). We will look at some poems in their native written verse and follow-up with simple conversations in the 5 Nordic languages (you can be as poetic as you like!) In addition to coffee, tea, and books, you can also purchase items from their restaurant and/or full-service bar.
If you are using Metro, take the Red Line to Dupont Circle station. The Q Street (north) exit puts you directly across the street from Kramers. If you are driving, the address is 1517 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington D.C. There are a limited number of metered parking spaces available on the streets throughout the neighborhood. A parking garage is located in the Dupont Circle Hotel across from Kramers on Q Street between 19th & 18th streets.
