Friday 22 September

This is a day filled with talks, films, and experiences designed for those who are interested to explore storytelling in new formats. The talks and VR experiences are all open to the public and free to attend, however you will have to buy a ticket or festival pass for the film screenings.

13.00 - How We Did It: Gamifying History (Hangout at Inkonst)

Short and documentary producer Elin Festøy presents her game “My Child: Lebensborn” which tells the story of children born of war. You will have an opportunity to play the game yourself after the seminar.

14.00 – Film screening: Gaming the Real World (Panora, TICKET NEEDED, will go on sale late august)

Can games change the world? Public spaces and entire cities are already being designed, planned and played through the medium of games. This doc explores the concept of 'Civic gamification'.

17.00 – How We Did It: Film and VR (Hangout at Inkonst)

The creators of “Nothing happens” and “EGO CURE” have made VR experiences based on films. “EGO CURE” is a short film experienced in VR and “Nothing Happens” is a VR experience, as well as a short film entered for the Nordisk Panorama competition.

18.00 – Mingle and sneak preview of Le Jardin des Pensees (The Garden of Thoughts) – an immersive experience (Inkonst)

Get the chance to try out Le Jardin des Pensees, a new VR and tactile experience created by Pernilla Belfrage. This experience was developed in part at a workshop hosted by BoostHBG and Nordisk Panorama. Once you've experienced the installation join your fellow VR enthusiasts for an informal mingle with drinks and snacks in the Hangout at Inkonst.

20.00 – Film screening: NOKIA – We Were Connecting People (Panora, TICKET NEEDED, will go on sale late august)

This film explores the rise and fall of Nokia and the Finnish mobile phone industry seen from a grassroots perspective, as experienced by the engineers who created the miracle and faced the failure.

In addition to this day Nordisk Panorama and BoostHbg have curated a programme of experiences from prototypes to final works in VR, Spatial Experiences and Games that will run for most of the festival.

VR Playground: Co-creation the Virtual Garden (Friday-Monday, 13.00-18.00)
You’ve experienced VR, but have you co-created in VR? You’re invited to paint a 3D garden together with other festival participants in a 5 minute session in the creation tool Tilt Brush. You’ll get a short intro and continue to make your own fancy bird – or tiny worm. Let's make a magical garden together!

The final piece will be available for other festival visitors to experience.

VR Experience: Nothing Happens (Friday-Sunday, 13.00-18.00)
Nothing Happens is both a cinematic and Virtual Reality experience that questions the role of the spectator, by inviting the individual to participate in an event.

VR Short: Ego Cure (Friday-Monday, 13.00-18.00)
EGO CURE is a narrative virtual reality short film following a contemporary dance choreographer’s struggle to create a contemporary masterpiece – at odds with a handful of disinterested dancers, her unpleasant producer and the otherworldly curator – while at the same time facing her own inner demons.

VR Experience: Le Jardin des Pensees (Saturday and Sunday 13.00-16.00)
Leave the outer world for a while, take a deep breath and be part of the garden of thoughts. Relax and let yourself be immersed into this VR universe. Get a glimpse of a peaceful place, at the intersection of art, sound and tactility.

The crew from regional development fund BoostHbg is available at Inkonst for coaching on your own VR-project or very early ideas, and they've brought a collection of prototypes from their VR programme to let you explore the very first steps towards a future experience.
