Building Bridges Across Your Team With Software Teaming

Details

Welcome to our Meetup! This will be an interactive Meetup with focus on mob programming. The first part we’ll listen to our external speaker Woody Zuill and his talk about software training and mob programming called “Building Bridges Across Your Team With Software Teaming”.
The second part will be interactive and how we implement this in practice in groups of 7-8 people.

Software Teaming (Mob Programming) is a software development approach where the whole team works on the same thing, at the same time, in the same space, and on the same computer. It is a whole-team approach to doing all the work the team does including designing, coding, testing, and working with the customers, users and other stakeholders.

This is an evolutionary step beyond pair programming, and accentuates face-to-face communication, team alignment, collaboration, and self-organizing team concepts of the Agile approach to software development.

Often communication and coordination can be difficult across our team. However, if we Turn Up The Good on collaboration a lot of the difficulties seem to fade away. In this session we’ll introduce the concept of Software Teaming, and some of the thinking behind it. We’ll explore why communication often fails, and the benefits of focusing on collaboration rather than on communication. Join us as we listen to interesting talks from Woody and practice what we learn in a group exercise.

Woody Zuill is an Agile and Lean Software Development guide who has been programming computers for 40+ years. He is an originator and pioneer of the Software Teaming (Mob Programming) approach to teamwork in software development, and provides workshops, coaching, and training on team software development.

The agenda for the evening (with breaks for food, drinks, snacks and mingle):
