North Brisbane Social Activities

Welcome to the 14th and the second last Scavenger Hunt from North Brisbane Social Activities! (The last one will be in November).

Let’s explore our Brisbane city and have some fun on an adult scavenger hunt. If it's your 1st time this will be a fun new experience for you.

We will meet at 10:30am outside City Hall where you will team up in groups of 2-5 (if you’ve brought someone with you, you can stay together) and be handed your list of tasks for your venture. At 10:45am after we've waited for late arrivals, we will start the hunt!

We will meet back at the City Hall location between 12:30pm and 1:00pm (or earlier if you're super fast) where we will add up all the points and see which team won. 1:00pm is the final cut off, any teams arriving after that will have points deducted.

The team with the most points will win a $50 cash prize.

You will need to bring a camera or phone capable of taking photos. The quest will not cost you any money and you do not need to buy any items to achieve success.

With many of the locations being either inside or undercover this event will not be cancelled if the weather is bad on the day (Bring an umbrella for the outside locations though) so when you RSVP you will know that the event will still be on, rain or shine!

Also, do not RSVP as Going then no show on the day, it's important that we know how many people are coming to this event. No showing 3 events will get you kicked out of the group under the group's 3 strike rule.

If you wish to donate to the group to cover Meetup costs, feel free to donate anywhere from 50c to $50. Or you can go to Amazon.com and buy one of the organisers books by searching Tom G COLLAPSE.

We will meet at the tables in the picture shown above which are located near the big waterfall. I have some games but feel free to bring games of your own.

However if you're not a gamer and would rather talk to the other attendees then feel free to do so. This is a very easy going casual event.

If are having trouble finding a car park you can park in Queen Street Malls parks, it's a short walk away from the Parklands. Or take the train as the station is right next to the park.

What we will do.

After we've gotten to know one another we usually play some easy fun party games for a few hours.

There are undercover areas in case of bad weather but if the weather is severe enough then we will instead play games at the Vault Games Brisbane store in the Queen Street Mall which is about a 10 minute walk away. Use Google Maps if you're unfamiliar with the area. If this does happen then I'll leave a comment in the events comment section on the day of the event.

If you want to donate to the group to help cover Meetup costs you can but it's optional so you don't have to pay to attend any events.

This event will usually be held on the last Saturday of every month.

It's time for some Jackbox Games!

I recommend getting dinner early before 6:00pm to allow more time for games or bring your dinner into the room. We won't banish you. But just make sure to keep the room clean.

What we will do.

For those unfamiliar, Jackbox games are party games we will play from my Laptop. When the code appears on the screen, all you have to do is go to Jackboxtv.com and type in the code to get access to the game. If you've never played Jackbox games before I suggest doing some research beforehand to get an idea of how it all works. The only things you will need is a phone with a decent amount of battery life and your presence.

I will be there just before 6:00pm to set up the Laptop. I will also bring some lighter card games in case we get a large turnout to ensure that no one is sitting around on their rear ends doing nothing.

If you’re driving, there are usually parks available in or near New Farm Park. There are also buses that go to and from New Farm Park to Fortitude Valley.

Also, this group has a 3 strike rule so if you RSVP as Going then fail to show up, you will get a strike. 3 strikes and you will get booted from the group.
