North Canterbury Teutonic Martial Arts Meetup

North Canterbury Teutonic Martial Arts Meetup is a welcoming group dedicated to providing authentic martial arts training.

The initial focus will be Glima (Viking wrestling) and we will add additional HEMA related activities as the group grows.

We will incorporate Viking warrior philosophy, Drengskapr, which includes the concepts of:
-Courage
-Honesty
-Loyalty
-Perseverance
-Fair Play
-Imperturbability and emotional composure
-Magnanimity
-Being humane

There will be three annual tournaments to identify the people's rankings (~April, July and October).

For fun, we will include some Glima adjacent games like Knattleikr and Combat Talf.

This meetup is also associated with the North Canterbury Teutonic School whose focus is on Teutonic culture and tradition.
