ANF Chapter September Work Day - FR 179 Parking Area

Our September trail workday will start on Sun, Sept 21 at 10 AM at the FR 179 parking. Forest Road 179 is located off Austin Hill Rd between Minister Rd and Sheffield. To get to the FR 179 trailhead, follow Austin Hill Rd west out of downtown Sheffield. After 5.3 miles, turn left onto FR 179. Drive 0.4 miles down FR 179 to the trailhead. Work includes building a short reroute and repairing a bridge and associated drainage. Both projects are located within a half mile of the parking.
Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. All tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work”.
