ANF Chapter October Trail Work Day - CHANGED TO RT 321 Red Bridge Trailhead

Details

This a change in LOCATION for the October workday due to a closure by PennDOT. The bridge over the Kinzua Arm of the reservoir on Rt 59 will be closed on Oct 17-19th.

Our October trail workday will start on Sat, Oct 18 at 10:00 AM EDT at the Rt 321 Red Bridge Trailhead. The trailhead is located on Rt 321 just north of the bridge, 9.4 miles south of Rt 59 and 9 mi north of Kane. Coordinates are N 41° 46.542’ W 078° 53.066’. You can also follow this link, https://arcg.is/1WWSnC , to the spot on the NCTA interactive map or https://bit.ly/46WSkWv on Google Maps.
Work includes repairing stream crossings, repairing a few bridges, paint blazing and brush cutting.
Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, and bring your own water, food, and work gloves. All tools are provided and no special skills are needed. We encourage people new to trail work to come out and give back to the trail. There will be a job for you and a person to teach you what to do. Remember that “many hands make light work”. Hope to see you there!
The last trailwork day for 2025 will be Sun, Nov 2. We will be meeting at Kellettville bridge parking to construct a reroute about 0.25 miles north of the Big Boulders Shelter.
