ANF Chapter February Sweetheart Hike – Guitonville Rd Parking

Bring your sweetheart along to enjoy a day in the forest! We will meet at Guitonville Rd parking at 10 AM on Sunday, Feb 15th. The parking is located on Guitonville Rd about 2.5 miles from Rt 66 on the left (south) side of the road at the beginning of FR 540. Coordinates are N 41° 27.616’ W 79° 12.133’. We’ll head north, towards Kellettville. On the way we’ll see beautiful vistas, rock cliffs and lovely streams. Those that make it to the north end of Little Salmon Valley will see evidence of beaver. It is about 2.2 miles to the Amsler shelter and back, 5 miles to get to the Bench overlook and back, 7.2 miles to go to FR 216 and back or 9.6 miles to get to the north end of Little Salmon Valley and back. The length of the hike can be adjusted based on the desires of the participants.
Please come prepared for the hike dressed in appropriate layers for the weather, and carrying your own food and water. Friendly dogs, on leash, are welcome. Hope to see you there!
