What we’re about
If you love ethnic food/international dining, cooking, culture and diversity, meeting new foodie friends then this is the group for you. North County has a reputation for not having interesting ethnic food choices, so let's investigate and see what we can find or what you may have discovered! This is not the group for basic tacos, Chinese take-out, burgers, or beer halls, etc... We search for authentic, bright, unusual foods bursting with flavor! Most dining outings will be in North County, (Poway, Escondido, San Marcos out to the coast) but, we will have, occasional treks into San Diego proper. If you love to cook, and share recipes we hold occasional themed potlucks at members' homes. True foodies, couples, singles ethnic food lovers, all are welcome to join! But please don't let us be a notch on your Meetup Belt! We would like serious members.
If anyone is feeling sick, please be courteous and do not attend events.
We will do outside events as much as we can and while the weather stays good. We want our event's to be enjoyable and safe for everyone. Thank you members let's stay healthy 💖
A FEW RULES:
1 )Dues are 10.00 a year, do to the high cost of running a Meetup group using their software. This helps the organizer with some of the cost. For new members once you have attended (two) Meetups and think you will like our group, please pay membership dues, or a donation ( 2 bucks) is appreciated per event. There is a donation tab on the main page, but they do charge fees (on both ends) If you would like to use Zelle or Venmo contact the organizer. Or pay in person at your next event. Thank you!
2} If you do not come visit our page for over 6 months, you will be removed from the group. We are not looking for lurkers or people who want to see how many groups they can belong to or just picking the best option of the day. We want members who are interested in our outings, even if you cant make an event see what we have going on.
3} If you sign up for an event and then can not make it please try to give 48 hours notice. This will give people on a waitlist the ability to join us. Also almost of the time we do have reservations and it is only fair to the restaurant especially if they have to bring in extra staff to help serve us.
4} We sometimes let you bring guests, at the time you make an RSVP and you want to bring a guest do it then so they have a spot. If they later decide not to go, update you RSVP then.
5} If you have 3 no shows for events that you signed up for or you have not given 24 hours notice with a reason you will be removed from the group. I do know who you are as there is a way to track this.
6} If you would like to host a Meetup let the organizer know and we will gladly let you do that.
Most of all we want you to come on the dining adventure with us and hopefully make some friends along the way!
