Kimchi is made by fermentation of napa cabbage, veggies and seasonings including onion, ginger, garlic and hot chilli pepper! This holds a strong significance in Korean culture. This food is rich in Vitamins, including vitamin C and D.. plus, minerals. Ofcourse it is loaded with probiotics and supports your digestive system. Sauerkraut is a close cousin of kimchi, dill pickles and other forms of fermented vegetables. It is simple to make, but there are so many variations! It has the same benefits as Kimchi and is equally delicious.
Kimchi and Sauerkraut are evidence that the magic of fermentation can convert simple ingredients into delicious, super foods! This will be a hands on meetup. We will make sauerkraut and kimchi. You are welcome to make both or just one! The list of ingredients will be provided to folks who RSVP, closer to the event.
This is a happy hour meetup, so please feel free to bring in your favorite German or Korean brew :).. Also, bring along your friends and/or make some new like minded friends at the meetup!
