In this talk, we'll be investigating some of the optimization pitfalls of writing microcontroller firmware for solving the Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) problem to subsample accuracy. This will be a small adventure in benchmarking and improving naively-implemented software until it competes with industry standard algorithms - and then coming up with new tricks when prior assumptions change. We'll introduce the frequency domain and then refine our implementations of the Discrete and Fast Fourier Transforms until our code can process multi-channel audio in real time.

Come out and join us for this exciting talk by Leon, and networking during the meetup and at the Burns pub afterward.

Food will be sponsored by Sovereign this month. Learn more about sovereign at https://sovereign.trading.
