Blind Date with a Book (and Maybe a Little Baggage)

Details

Tired of swiping through the same old storylines? Join us for a playful and heartwarming book exchange that’s all about blind dates—with books that unpack the real, messy, beautiful stuff of parenting and relationships.

Here’s how it works:

  • Bring one or more books you’ve loved (or at least found compelling!) about parenting, relationships, identity, or starting over—fiction or nonfiction.
  • Wrap each one so its identity is hidden—think paper grocery bag chic.
  • On the front, write a clever, cryptic “personal ad” for the book:
A moody realist with dry wit and serious emotional baggage seeks a reader who understands nuance, fresh starts, and forgiveness.
Or maybe try a pros & cons list. Or a short poem. Get creative!

The catch? You don’t know what you’re taking home until you unwrap your book-date later.

Do bring: thoughtful, well-written books (recent fiction or nonfiction)
🚫 Please skip: religious texts, reference books, or cookbooks

You’ll go home with at least as many books as you came with—and maybe a few new friends or great conversation starters. Leftovers can return home with their owners or find a new life in one of our local Little Free Libraries.
