They have fixed the huge pot hole that almost swallowed my car 7-8 years ago so we can access this hike again. Let's go check it out. Recent Trip report states trail is in pretty good condition for the first 3 miles, so that is how far we will probably go (unless they clear the blowdowns beyond that beforehand) This is not Deception Pass or Deception Falls.
Everything that makes a river hike fun is here, cool bridges, waterfalls, big trees, lots of dripping moss, and mushrooms.
A perfect hike for an overcast or warm day, venture up a deep valley cloaked in magnificent old-growth forest. One of the finest ancient forest hikes within the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, Deception Creek is also one of the quieter trails in that wilderness. Passed over by hikers preferring mountain summits and alpine lakes, this trail is perfect for those who enjoy solitude, quiet contemplation and big old trees—and of course a gorgeous cascading mountain creek as well!
Mileage: 6 miles RT.
Elevation Gain: about 1200 ft
Passes/Permit required: NW Forest Pass? ( WTA says none)
Dogs allowed on leash/scoop the poop

The add a guest feature will be turned off. if you want to bring a guest, they must travel in the same car as you.
Carpooling suggested. leave in the comments if you can drive or want to be a passenger.
## Getting There
Head east toward Stevens Pass on Hwy 2. Eight miles past the town of Skykomish, begin looking for a right-hand turn. One-quarter mile past the Deception Falls Interpretive Site (on the north side of the highway) look for the narrow, brushy turnoff for FR 6088.
Follow the road under a railroad trestle to the end and trailhead. There is room for about 10 cars. There are no toilet facilities.
