Sunday Morning Hike - Granite Lakes via Granite Creek Trail, North Bend, WA

For those wanting a more back country, alpine experience. Please come prepared to sweat. We will be starting early as most of these trails are quite popular.
Come prepared with water and snacks (lunch for the longer ones) for you and your dog, proper hiking footwear, winter season - traction for your shoes (YakTrax) hiking pole(s) advised, summer season - sunscreen, and bug spray.
Attendance will be limited, so please honor your RSVP or update it as early as you can so somebody else can attend. )

Excessive heat will cancel this hike. Please check in the evening before or before you head out in the morning.

Granite Creek Trail to Granite Lakes — Washington Trails Association
Granite Creek courses through the gorge between Mailbox Peak and Russian Butte. Ascend through the creek’s ravine, immersed in mountain rainforest, alongside whitewater rapids, waterfalls, wildflowers, and mushrooms, while you take in majestic views of the mountains of the Middle Fork valley.

Mileage: 8.8 miles RT.
Elevation Gain: about 2270 ft
Passes/Permit required: NW Forest Pass
Dogs allowed on leash/scoop the poop

The add a guest feature will be turned off. if you want to bring a guest, they must travel in the same car as you.

Carpooling suggested. leave in the comments if you can drive or want to be a passenger.

Meet at North Bend Safeway to caravan/carpool to trailhead.

## Getting There

Driving Directions
From Seattle, drive east on I-90 to exit 34. Turn left onto 468th Ave SE and follow it 0.6 miles to the junction with SE Middle Fork Road. Turn right and follow SE Middle Fork Road 2.1 miles, until reaching a fork. Stay to the right on Lake Dorothy Road, and pass the Granite Creek Connector trailhead 0.7 miles later, on your right. 2.2 miles farther, just before the bridge across the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River, reach a driveway to your right, which leads to the Granite Creek trailhead. The trailhead has parking for 37 vehicles (2 disabled spaces). A privy and kiosk with a map are at the parking area. There is overflow parking along FR 56, opposite the trailhead, for 14 vehicles.
