Welcome to spring season. Rain happens, but i try not to let it stop us. High winds or torrential rain, however, will cause me to cancel completely or change what we do. Please check in the morning of the event to see what is happening. Arm yourself for seasonal weather swings. Please keep your RSVP up to date - even if you are on the waitlist.

Please remember to be kind and respectful to all members of this group as well as other people and dogs you meet along the way. Do not allow your dog go up to other dogs or people without permission from those people and dog owners. Be mindful of your dog’s whereabouts and manage accordingly for the safety and comfort of all.

Island Adventure
I haven’t been to Fort Flagler so let’s go check it out. Requires a ferry ride from Edmonds unless you want to drive around. I am thinking if we get the 8 am ferry we could be hiking by ten.

Fort Flagler State Park is one of five impressive military installations that were established in close proximity to protect Puget Sound from invaders during times of war. In the 1950s, all five were converted to state parks, giving the public access to thousands of near-shore acres and miles of prime coastline.

Park at the north end of the park and start your 5-mile loop hike on the stony beach, enjoying the views across to Port Townsend in one direction and Whidbey Island in the other. To your right are towering bluffs, atop which there is another trail you can take later if there is time.
