Get ready for hiking season. Progressively harder hikes to get in shape.

For those wanting a more back country, alpine experience. Please come prepared to sweat. We will be starting early as most of these trails are quite popular.
Come prepared with water and snacks (lunch for the longer ones) for you and your dog, proper hiking footwear, winter season - traction for your shoes (YakTrax) hiking pole(s) advised, summer season - sunscreen, and bug spray.
Attendance will be limited, so please honor your RSVP or update it as early as you can so somebody else can attend. )

Oyster Dome is a rocky promontory on the western slope of Blanchard Mountain, the grandest member of the Chuckanut Mountain range, an extension of the Cascades that rises directly from the ocean. The sheer cliffs of Oyster Dome offer year-round access to commanding views of the San Juans, Skagit River flats, Olympic Mountains, and Samish Bay.

## Getting There

From I-5, take exit 240 (Alger) and head west on Lake Samish Road. Take the first left onto Barrel Springs Road and travel 0.6 mile, to where there is a sign reading “Blanchard Forest Block”. Turn right on the dirt road and travel another 1.7 miles to a sign for “Samish Overlook”. Turn left and pass through the yellow gate (open one hour before sunrise to one hour past sunset) and continue 2.2 miles to the Samish Overlook Day Use Area.

There is parking for 20 vehicles (day use only). There are vault toilets, picnic tables and benches. A Discover Pass is required.
