What do we mean by the "metaphysically given"? How does it differ from the man-made? How can we tell the difference, and why is it important? Join us in Coeur d'Alene to discuss Ayn Rand's answers to these questions according to her philosophy of Objectivism - a philosophy for living on Earth.

This month we will discuss the essay The Metaphysical Versus the Man-Made from the book Philosophy: Who Needs It. If you do not already have the book, you can get a free electronic copy from the Ayn Rand Institute here: Free eBook . You can purchase the physical book at either of the preceding links, and you can also read the essay online if you wish. Supplemental Reference material may be found in The Ayn Rand Lexicon.

Whether you have read all of Ayn Rand’s works or none of them, whether you are a beginner or already have an advanced understanding, if you are interested in the impact of ideas on our culture and in your own life, you are welcome to take part in the discussion.

In case you cannot make it to the library, the meeting will also be accessible via Zoom. If you plan to attend via Zoom, please join the meeting a little early so we can make sure everything is working for you.
