Contra dance with caller Adina Gordon, music by Oliver Alex Owen
Details
Get your groove on! Join us tonight for some of the very best music and calling anywhere! Welcome notes for new dancers: The beginner's lesson at 7:00 PM will get you dancing in no time. Come alone or with a friend. Throughout the evening, we mix around and dance with everyone. The music is live, and the steps are called/prompted. People of all ages attend, and our events are alcohol-free. Dancing is aerobic; dress lightly and bring a water bottle. Flat-soled shoes are best; heels or flip-flops are not recommended.
Tonight's talent: ADINA GORDON finds an outlet for her loves of travel, music, dance and silliness by calling and dancing throughout the U.S. and Canada, facilitating joy and minor chaos wherever she goes. Combining a voice that makes you WANT to do what she says with a commitment to using that power for good and not evil, Adina calls dances both old and new that cause spontaneous eruptions of joy on the dance floor.
OAO combines the talents of three amazing musicians who have played with the best contra bands in the country: Fiddler, mandolinist and tunesmith Oliver Scanlon, pianist Alex Fortier, and flatpick guitarist Owen Morrison. Don't miss this opportunity to see them together!
Admission rates for tonight: $20 adult or $5 with student ID. Cash, credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay accepted at the door.
