What we’re about
North Metro Gender Support is a trans-focused support and social group. We're entirely peer run by and for trans folks. Our goals are helping our trans peers find support, build community, and get to know each other! We have both support events and social events, as well as a thriving Discord server full of trans folks! All of our events are currently in-person, as we find that in-person groups work best for our members and our limited resources.
We primarily host a support group for transgender, gender-nonconforming, Two Spirit, non-binary, intersex, and questioning folks over the age of 18. If you fit into any of those, or think you might, please come join us! We meet every Tuesday at 7-9pm. To get the specific location, you'll need to be a member of this group. We do currently meet in a church, but we are not affiliated with any religion and we meet in a church only because it is a large space that we can use for free. We are run entirely by trans people, for trans people and we celebrate and affirm trans identities in all their variations!
Our members also host social events on average once a month and we host official events every 2-3 months, which are sometimes open to cisgender friends and family. In the past, we've hosted Transgiving, Halloween parties, NMGS birthday parties, and shorter social events before support group begins.
If you think you might be interested, go ahead and join us at an upcoming support group or social event! We love new folks. You'll need to join the group to view the locations of our events. For the safety of our group members, we don't make the location public to non-members.
Please don't be put off by low RSVP numbers - we have regular members who don't RSVP on meetup. We average 12-20 people per night.
