Big Dry Creek Trail - Westminster City Park to Metzger Farm Open Space /back

Details
This wintertime walk is a pretty easy (60ft elevation change) trail along The Big Dry Creek in Westminster and Broomfield. We'll meet just west of Westminster City Park at the Armed Forces Tribute Garden (VWPP+Q9 Westminster, Colorado) parking lot on west 105th Avenue (see detailed instructions below).
This is a three-mile trail each way for a total of six miles. Walking time should be under two hours.
Weather forecast (currently) shows a high of 39° at this time but is always subject to the whims of mother nature. Dress in layers and be prepared for wind.
The trail is cultivated all the way but may be mixed with concrete and gravel. Some mud and snow is possible.
This path gives us a couple options for a post-walk lunch near the start or a split-walk lunch at the halfway point. The latter option may offer a nice place to warm up in the event of cold wind, etc. But 39° in full sun while walking is often very comfortable.
