In Person Backgammon Tournament (Members Only) and Social / Casual Backgammon for beginners/intermediates that don't want to be in the tournament.

All levels welcome even beginners for Social Play, but we recommend you are at an Intermediate and higher level players if entering the tournament.
In the tournament we use the Doubling Cube and Matches are to 3 points (this time), so if you don't know what that means or if you are a beginner, check out our casual/social portion of our event for now. We can help teach you how to learn the tools to get you to an intermediate level.
You are welcome to come and watch and say hi to us as well as eat/drink and talk if you are not in the tournament but please be respectful while our tournament players are focusing on winning their competitive matches.

You *MUST* be an existing club member (with a completed member questionnaire) and pay the entry fee to enter our tournaments.

Details:

Social / Casual play - $5 suggested donation for entry fee
Visitors / Non-Playing - FREE for to watch & Learn
Tournament - $15 entry fee (cash at the door or by Venmo/Zelle or credit card using Stripe invoice in email) if playing in the tournament.

BRING YOUR OWN BOARDS (limited loaners available or play with someone else that has their own board.)
If you are just watching the tournament players please try to not disturb players when they are concentrating.
Food & Drink is NOT included. That is a separate bill for you to pay to the restaurant/venue on your own check if you order anything.

Please help the venue by purchasing food and drink as they are letting us stay and use their venue for no charge for our event.,
Prizes for top 2 or 3 finishers in the tournament (depending on # of players entered) and also Club Master Points are awarded for every player entered in the tournament for the club's yearly leader board challenge and Player of the Month honors.

3 point matches / Swiss 3 rounds. 30 mins max per match. Time WILL be enforced so we can finish on time. If score is tied after time limit is reached, each player gets 0.5 points so we can keep it moving to the next round.
Tournament Format -3 rounds of Swiss, rotate after each round (with 1 point each match win.

A tie breaker round for 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th will be added as needed.

Schedule:

5pm - 540pm - Check-in / Verify Payment / Setup boards / Casual Play Starts
PLEASE BE EARLY or on time if possible so we can start ON TIME as we need to be OUT of the building by 9pm SHARP NO EXCEPTIONS.
5:45pm - Brackets finalized.
***NOTE: We WILL start without you. If you are more than 15 mins late - you will either lose 1 point in your 3 point match or lose your round 1 match-up entirely if you are very late.
If everyone arrives on time/early we can start sooner.
Please account for traffic and parking time.
Aprox 545-6pm - Tournament Starts / Play Matches / Eat / Drink / Social play continues until 8:40pm
8:40 pm - Tear-down / clean up
8:45 - 9pm pm - ALL Leave the building.
Venue closes at 9pm sharp NO EXCEPTIONS

Precision Dice ARE REQUIRED for tournaments (not casual play), Please bring your own dice. Precision dice NOT required for Casual / Social play
