Have Fun / Make Friends / Competitive Backgammon with great players.
All levels welcome but the tournaments recommended for Intermediate and higher level players.
If you want to come and watch for FREE and NOT be in the tournament or just play casually for FREE we will have a little time before the tournament starts for casual play.
In the tournament , We use the Doubling Cube and Matches are to either 3 or 5 points, so if you don't know what that means or if you are a beginner, check out our casual/social events for now.
You are welcome to come and watch and say HI to us as well as eat/drink and talk if you are not in the tournament but please be respectful while our tournament players are focusing on winning their competitive matches.
Details:
$15 entry fee (cash at the door or by Venmo/Zelle or credit card using Stripe invoice in email) if playing in the tournament.
FREE for visitors / Nomn-Tournament Player
***Food is NOT included. That is a separate bill for you to pay to the restaurant if you order anything.
Prizes for top finishers and also Club Master Points awarded for every player for the club's yearly leader board challenge.
Format will be decided once we know how many players enter.
Usually 3 or 5 point matches.
Either Modified Swiss Format. 3 to 5 rounds (with 1 point for match winner.) After the Swiss rounds we have a tie breaker for top 2 for 1st and 2nd place and then next top players for 3rd and 4th place.
OR if we have less than 8 players (5 or 6) then we do a Round Robin format (everyone plays each other) with 3 point matches. We will decide once we know how many are playing in the tournament.
Clock Settings - 2 mins per point and 12 second delay time
Schedule:
5:30 - 6:00 pm - Check-in / Verify Payment / Setup boards / Order Food / Eat
6:15pm - Brackets Finalized / Eat
615pm - 9:45 - Tournament Starts / Play Matches / Eat / Drink
9:45pm - Tear-down / clean up
10pm - Venue CLOSES . We MUST be out before10 pm
BRING YOUR OWN BOARDS or share with someone who has one.
CLOCKS / TIMER APPS REQUIRED.
PRECISION DICE REQUIRED (for the tournament players)

You MUST be an approved club member BEFORE the event to be able to play in the tournament.

All tournament players MUST have completed a new member questionnaire before acceptance into the club to be allowed to play in a tournament with an entry fee and prizes for top players.
