WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

We'll get together to introduce the key concepts behind cloud computing, with examples built out using Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Planned agenda:

5:35: Introduction
5:40: AWS 101: Cloud Computing Fundamentals: core cloud computing concepts, core AWS services, customer references
6:20: AWS Demonstration: interact with a live demo of an advanced, deployed app and discuss components
6:50: Interactive Session
7:00: Resources: information on: where to learn more, AWS free tier, AWS Cloud Clubs, AWS Skill Builder, Certifications, AWS TechU and more
7:10: Final Questions
7:30: Closing Time

WHAT IS THE FORMAT?

We'll have a quick introduction followed by guest presenters covering the topics above. Then we'll switch over to brief, moderated Q&A, but participants can ask questions throughout.

DO I HAVE TO BE AN EXPERT? A STUDENT?

No and no. This Meetup is open to all who are interested and is meant to be an introduction to the topic.

For this particular Meetup, it will be helpful to have some familiarity and experience with one or more coding languages and the basics of the web.

HOW DO I ATTEND?

We will be holding this as a virtual Meetup event. We will post information about our Zoom Meeting location. You'll need to download the appropriate software for your computer, tablet, or mobile device.

Questions for the Q&A will be handled via the Zoom chat functionality, with instructions presented during the Meetup.

WHAT ABOUT ACCOMMODATIONS?
