Bike the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail- Monday, May 19.

Details
Come join us for a 30-mile round trip ride on this great intermediate-level trail, one of the nicest you'll find in all of New England. We'll start at the Chelmsford Center for Arts parking lot. and then make our way out to West Concord.
And we ride 6 miles from West Concord towards Sudbury for our turnaround point, to get about 15 miles one way, and a total of about 30 miles roundtrip.
This will be a MODERATELY paced ride at 10 to 12 mph with several brief water/bathroom breaks along the way. We'll all regroup at these break points, so nobody will be left behind on this ride.
Break/Regroup points: On the way out, we'll stop at Heart pond, in Chelmsford (about 4.5 miles in), and then Nara Park (about 10 miles in), in Acton. Finally, we'll stop at the Concord Depot on our return trip from the trail end. This will be our lunch stop.
The entire trail is paved, so any bike will do for this ride.
IMPORTANT: Be sure your bike is in good working order! Tires should be in good shape and pumped up, gears should shift smoothly, and your brakes should be properly adjusted. If possible, pack a spare tube in case of a flat. A hand pump or CO2 inflator is also desirable, though not absolutely necessary, as many riders will already have them.
Safety: A helmet is mandatory when biking with this group. If you don't have one or have forgotten yours, I have spare ones to lend.
PARKING: Parking is behind the Center for Arts building. Look for my red pickup and red recumbent bike.
