Join us for events in the Chicago North Shore area - Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, Glenview, Northbrook and surrounding towns. (You don't have to live here to participate)
This is a busy, active group, focused on getting out and meeting new friends. What kind of events? Whatever we find that is fun! Concerts, plays, happy hours, dining out.
I do not have to be at every event - if you think of something and would like to make it an event (and you are available to host) just let me know! I will post it! Ideas for new events are always welcome.
And help me find a new cover picture for the group! This was all I could think of that exemplified the North Shore but there has got to be something better!

See the new Ryan Field! Evanston Twp HS vs. New Trier Football!
Ryan Field, 1501 Central St, Evanston, IL 60208, USA, Evanston, IL, USJoin us in cheering on your favorite North Shore football team (ETHS or New Trier) as they play in the fabulous new Northwestern football stadium, Ryan Field on Friday, October 16. Doors open at 5:00 pm and the game starts at 7:00 pm.

More info to come - I think we are going to meet for a bite at Mustard's Last Stand before the game and go in together.
Worried about transportation? The stadium is on Central Street very close to both the Central Street Metra stop and the Central Street Purple line stop. Worried about parking? There is free parking in front of my condo (Central and McDaniel) so you can park here and walk about .9 miles to the stadium.

Lightscape at the Chicago Botanic Garden! Adults only night 21+ Thursday 12/10

We elected to go on Thursday, December 10 since it is the ADULTS ONLY night (21+) and they say they will have special handcrafted drinks! I just bought my member's ticket and it was $24.50. We went last year and it was fantastic! Some of us were able to walk around twice!
PLEASE BUY YOUR TICKETS SOON AS THESE SPECIAL NIGHTS SELL OUT QUICKLY! AND PRICES GO UP AS THEY EVENT GETS CLOSER!
We will meet beforehand (the kids call it pre-gaming) at 5:15 pm at PF Changs near Northbrook Court Mall (1819 Lake Cook Rd.) (see below). If you can't make it at 5:15, just join us when you can.
Here is how you purchase your ticket: (Please buy your ticket very soon because these nights and time slots sell out! I would hate for you to miss it!)
1. Visit the CBG website and go to the Lightscape events page. If you are a CBG member, go through your member portal and buy for this night.
2. Select Thursday December 10 (which is yellow for 21+ and select the 6:45 pm entry time.)
4. Nonmember tickets are $30.50. (If you are a member, do the same but purchase through your member portal)
5. You also may need to purchase parking which is $18 (members park free) BUT ...
6. We are meeting for dinner/snacks/drinks at PF Changs by Northbrook Court Mall at 5:15 pm and we can carpool over in the cars of people who are members or who have free Garden parking through their employer (I am a member and can take 3-4 more people). Indicate in the comments if you are a member and can take a few extra people.
7. Do not RSVP on Meetup until you have purchased your Lightscape ticket!
8. Bring your friends! Guests are welcome!Don't miss this opportunity to see Lightscape! It is fantastic!
