What we’re about
North Shore Paddlers Meetup is free for those who are interested in learning about, or who have just started, kayaking on the ocean. Trips will primarily be calm water kayaking (Level 1) or ocean introduction trips (Level 2). Trip organizers are experienced ocean paddlers who can provide trip participants with answers and insights to help them learn to paddle with a club and progress as sea kayakers.
This group is sponsored by North Shore Paddlers Network, an established sea kayaking club in New England, and this Meetup is one of its many activities. If you would like to know more about NSPN and ocean kayaking in general, click this link to our home page.
Please sign the NSPN Participant Agreement here before joining the group, and be sure to include your Meetup name. You only have to sign it once a year for all our events.
Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Chebacco Lake kayaking practice sessionsChebacco Lake launch, South Hamilton, MA
Come join us at Chebacco Lake in Hamilton on Thursdays at 5pm until sunset though the summer. Practice strokes, rolls, rescues, falling out of your boat, or just watching kingfishers. Dress for immersion. A wetsuit is warm enough in early season, and keeps down the bruises from climbing back into your boat ten times a night. You will need a boat, paddle, and PFD. People will be there who can help you, if you want help. These sessions can serve as an introduction to kayaking in a safe environment, or as a practice opportunity.
We meet at the boat ramp at the south end of the lake, and hang out in the cove to the left of the ramp. You can either get off 128 at Pine st (exit 49) and head north, or find Chebacco road off Rt 22 in Essex. No entrance fees.
Do sign our Participant Agreement before attending. More about us at nspn.org.
