If you are looking for a group to enjoy paddling adventures on the water or learn new skills, we are the club for you! North Texas River Runners is a chapter of the Arkansas Canoe Club and is affiliated with the American Canoe Kayak SUP Raft Rescue Association (ACA). We are about helping our members develop their kayaking skills while discovering the joys of outdoor water adventures. Our members include all levels of ACA certified instructors as well as regular folks who love being on the water. We do both white water and flat water adventures and welcome everyone from beginning paddlers to advanced white-water daredevils. Our club was formed in 1986. To become an official member of the club, the dues are $25 for individual or family, but to join on meetup and receive notification of events there is no charge. We do request that those who attend 3 or more events pay the nominal dues to become an official member of the club.

Due to flooding the April hangout was cancelled. We are going to try again with the same location. The NTRR Hangout is scheduled for May 30 through June 1 at Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Patty Donaho and Steve Ford will arrive early on May 29 at Gypsy Camp and Canoe, 20271 S Highway 59, Siloam Springs, AR 72761-7627, 479-238-5396. Reservations can be made online at Gypsy Camp & Canoe. 30 amp RV sites are $50 per night and tent sites are $30 per night.
North Texas River Runners is continuing a monthly get-together for members -- The NTRR Hangout. Members who have whitewater experience or who have taken: Basic Kayaking class, the ACC River School, ACC Whitewater School or their equivalent are invited to join other members for a long weekend of paddling. While previous whitewater experience is not required, appropriate gear is. (Whitewater capable boat w skirt and float bags). There is some club equipment available to borrow on a first come first served basis.
The Hangout is not a class, but offers the chance to get to know other members better, knock a little rust off of skills if you have been off the water for a while and maybe pick up some tips from more experienced members. (You do have to be a current member of NTRR/ACC in good standing). We do ask paddlers to follow paddle safety rules and to wear a PFD, an approved helmet and have float bags in their boat. Siloam Springs features two whitewater parks: City of Siloam Springs Kayak Park has three drops which are normally easy Class II river running and good quality surfing when the current is below 450 cfs (as of 4/3, it is running at 309 cfs). Siloam Springs Park drops are constructed on the Illinois River.
WOKA is on the Oklahoma side of the state line in Siloam Springs OK. It is a man-made course that uses water diverted from the Illinois River. It has easier drops on the lower part of the course which allow beginners and experienced boaters who need to revive their skills to paddle simpler water. The top of the course is still Class II water, but it allows paddlers to take more challenging lines and it has bigger waves. There is a charge for paddling WOKA of $10 per car. I recommend packing a lunch and arriving in the morning for a full day of paddling. A snack bar is also available.

Greet the sunrise from the calm waters of the Trinity Confluence.
Join us in the predawn hour for a guided tour on the Trinity National Water Trail. Breakfast snacks included. Bring your own boat or rent one of ours. Meeting times subject to change as sunrise times change.Free if you have your own boat. (Though a tip for the guide is nice).

Contained in these pages is information that should be read by each person registering for the school.

(NOTE: Little to no cellular service at Gypsy Camp.) - Cost: You must be a current member of the Arkansas Canoe Club before you can register for the School of River Paddling. ACC Household Membership covers you and two additional members living in your household. If you are not already a member of the ACC, please visit the Membership section of our Web site.
- Camping: Included with the event fee and is all day Friday, Saturday and through Sunday.
- Electric sites are reserved for Instructors and assigned volunteers only.
- No reservations needed for campsites. First come bases, please leave room in the shady areas for others.

Join us for the Strawberry FULL MOON paddle.
We will first enjoy the sunset on the Trinity River National Water Trail and enjoy city lights and the glory of the FULL MOON.We will meet at TC Paddlesports at 7:30PM and launch at approx 7:45 PM from the Panther Island Beach. We will paddle into the sunset. Once the sun is down, we will turn around to enjoy the calm water and the full moon over the city as we return to the beach.
This is a beginner friendly trip of about 4 miles.

Lights vests and guide provided.
