NTSSUG MEETING -MAY 17, 2018 - Speaker Idol & SQLSat Prep

Come be a part of our first ever Speaker Idol Contest

Contestants will be given 5 minutes to do a short presentation for the group.

Each will receive feedback from our panel of judges - a few of which are from out of town and have traveled to Dallas specifically for our upcoming SQL Saturday on 5/19. The feedback is meant to be constructive and something everyone in attendance can learn from.

The judges will be looking at how each contestant presents their selected topic. They will give feedback on style, presentation, and slides. They might give feedback on any technical content, but contestants will not be judged on the content of the presentation itself.

The winner of the contest can choose from either a really cool drone (we will have there, so they can take it home if they like) or free admission to one of the 4 Precons on Friday 5/18. (see our other meetups)

Following the meeting, volunteers can stay late and help us stuff 600 bags for the upcoming SQL Saturday.

Meeting starts: 6:00 pm with food and mingling
Announcements & Ask the Experts: 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm
Speaker Idol Contest: 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm
Bag Stuffing for SQL Saturday (volunteers): 7:45 pm - 8:15 pm
