Capilano Pacific Trail with Detour
Details
About the hike:
Head out on this 5.4-mile point-to-point trail near West Vancouver, British Columbia. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 12 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, fishing, and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
Please note: This route as shown includes a detour around a section of the Capilano Pacific Trail, which has been closed due to landslides. The city currently has no planned timeline for re-opening this restricted area which spans almost one km and begins just north of Keith Rd.
The best time to enjoy this trail is during the spring when the white cherry blossom trees occasionally leap out from the green background, making hikers have a really unique experience. The upstream sections of this trail are steeper, and walking along the creeks and bridges is fun.
At the top is Capilano Lake, a cute green house in the middle of the lake, with the snow capped mountains in the distance during the winter on a clear day.
